The Food Works SW Technical Team

SALSA certification has been keeping Rachel busy over the last few months with multiple businesses. Most recently Miles Tea, in Minehead, have successfully retained their SALSA status. Rachel’s helped them with the preparation as well as the audit itself.

Other News

WECA - Business Growth and Adaptions Grant


This scheme is designed to help SMEs in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset to purchase new products and equipment to help increase or improve production or start production of physical, tangible products. It can also be used to adapt to changes in legislation enacted in the last three years.


The fourth and final round of the grant is due to go live at the end of September. This fourth round will be open for applications from the 21st September to 5th October.

South West Enterprise Fund Grants – Somerset Community Foundation


If you currently live in the counties of Somerset, North Somerset or BANES and want to start your own business and know what products or services you want to provide, or have been trading for under 2 years then this is for you!


If you meet all the criteria above, then you can ask us for up to £2,000.
There is no minimum amount, but it would expected to send applications of £500 upwards.


This money can be used to pay for the equipment, materials, stock and services you need in order to get your business running (you cannot apply for salary/your own living costs).
