‘Accelerate’ is a programme of business support being run in partnership with North Somerset Council, Weston College and North Somerset Enterprise Agency to provide help, advice and guidance to businesses in all sectors and whether new or well established.

As part of the programme, Food WorksSW (The Food and Drink Forum) is able to provide specialist support specifically to food and drink businesses based in North Somerset.

A series of industry relevant workshops and seminars are open to food and drink business from North Somerset and across the South West.

Eligible food and drink producers or businesses will be able to access:

  • A range of thematic seminars, workshops and practical events with industry speakers and business owners sharing their experiences.  Our events timetable can be found below.
  • Practical workshops will be held in our development kitchens.
  • Bespoke 1 to 1 technical and development support to North Somerset producers from our Technical and Product Development staff including additional specialist advice from our partner organisations where needed.
  • The Technical and Development support can also include paid for use of our development kitchens.  Please note this is only available to 15 North Somerset food and drink businesses.

The ‘Accelerate’ programme funded by the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund to support skills, community and place, local business and supporting people into employment.

*The Community Renewal Fund is a UK Government programme for 2021/22 that aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK to pilot programmes and new approaches to prepare for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It invests in skills, community and place, local business and supporting people into employment.
